Everyone knows Adblock (or whatever you use to block ads from websites).
They block ads from websites and get a cleaner look on the important stuff (text, information, video, etc.).
You can easily use this content blocker to block other stuff aswell, not only ads. (Ads are mostly scripts or pages hosted on other sites).
For this we need to block the images or scripts or CSS files that we dont want to see/use.

1. Get the plugin from chrome web store.
2. Install and head to the settings page.
3. Choose the tab Own Filters (third one from the left).
4. Click the button to manually edit the filters

5. Edit the filter, add the script that you want to block - I show you this with the snowing script on the wiw website ;-)
   For this, add this string into the textbox:

6. Do not forget to doublecheck and save.

I'm sorry for the german part in the screenshots, but it was displayed in german even when I changed the display language in chrome settings

If you ever encounter any content you dont want to see, there you go, find the script and destroy it's visibility

PS: the adblock toolbar button displays a menu when clicking onto it, there should be an option to display removeable content - you can also choose the right content in there (its just a bit messy IMO).

I havn't got crome, I prefer the old google.

Well the Google browser is chrome. Or I don't get the relation between the browser and Google.

You can also use this method on Firefox, you might have to alter the syntax a bit maybe.

Yes i am in internet explorer 7, the old system. and google look like this,
Google crome changes everything, and I can' get used to it.

That version of Internet Explorer is very unsafe to use if im not mistaken.

Right after the address bar the adblock icon, click it and choose "remove ad from this website".


A dialog pops up, you can move it with drag n drop, select the area (highlighted blue'ish) that you want to remove.


You can now choose at which level the choosen layer/div/object should get removed.
You see in realtime what things get removed with the actual setting, the things that will be removed get blurred out.

Just a closer look to the dialog from before.


If you click on "Looks good" it will open another dialog. Doublecheck your settings now and if its all good (if its not removing too much!) click "Remove" button.


Do this with all the ads or scripts or images or whatever you like.

ahh nice i made it ! ....no snowflakes anymore

well without the | adblock sets wildcards also infront of the url. could case trouble when you have to include that url in some url path (GET variables for example) maybe for any kind of online file editor.

on browser settings cleaning cache and removing some cookies moslty work the best.

e.g.: http://somewebsite.com/tinymce.php?file ... ...torm.js
the | only blocks, if the above url would start with the snowstorm url.
